Chapter Eight

Perry

Hades gasps as he looks between the two of us. He scratches his jaw slowly, his eyes locked on mine.

“Do you know who this is Perry?” He asks in a bewildered voice.

“Not a clue.” I say with a shrug.

“This is Apollyon or Abaddon. The angel of the Abyss or the Destroyer. He used to answer to either,” he says looking at the cell again. The bright silver eyes inside, never leaving mine.

“He is my mate. That’s all I know,” I say as I feel my arm burning. I glanced down, seeing his name form in a bold cursive. I know the names Hades said, but this pull can’t be denied.

“Mate,” his sultry voice whispers out through the bars. His body getting closer to the bars. Goddess. He is a tall one. Knocking 7’ tall.

Wow.

“Why is he here?” I say, looking at Hades. His eyes locked on the cage, slightly lost in thought.

“Let’s just say, he went a little crazy a few years ago. He used to be an awesome friend and general. Now, I don’t know if the madness has taken him completely or if my friend is still there. I put him here to keep him safe,” he sighs softly.

“Well, can you let him out? Or let me in?” I honestly don’t think I can leave without him. I feel like I need him with me at all times. I need him out here with me, or I at least need to sit inside his cell with him. I know this is the mate bond, but some calls can’t be ignored.

Hades looks at me intensely, then looks inside the cell. He debates for a moment then nods his head reluctantly.

“I will let you in there and I’ll go back to the palace. I will need to put in the paperwork for him to be released into your care.”

He walks over to the cage. His body rigid as he pulls a key from thin air. I walk up to his side, waiting for the cell to be opened. As soon as the lock clicks, unlocking the cage, Hades pushes me inside then closes the door firmly. He looks to Apollyon.

“Friend, if you harm her. I will kill you,” Hades growls deeply. He disappears without another word. A soft, content growl is emanating from all around me. His body heat stops right behind me.

He is standing so close, I can feel him right against my back. I can feel him bend down, running his nose across the curve of my neck. A shiver rocks through my body as his hands grip my hips. His claws biting against my skin slightly. Suddenly, I see Hades standing in front of us.

“I expedited your paperwork. You need to take him home and try to settle his demon side. Call me if you need me or your dad.” Hades hands me the paperwork through the bars. As my hand closes on them, Apollyon and I get phased back to my living room. I can already tell my other mates aren’t here, so I’m not really worried.
